Activity in Asia remains strong, although there has been an expansion of focus from just traditional destinations, bringing more cities and countries into the mainstream of talent mobility.
In 2023, mainstays such as Tokyo, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Singapore were overwhelmed with the restart of relocations into Asia. These destinations remain critical to the global mobility industry, but company expansion of operations throughout the region has given rise to new Asian Hotspots.
These Hotspots destinations include Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam and account for an increasing number of relocations. These are not entirely new destinations, but their growing activity will mean a greater number of talent mobility professionals worldwide will be managing moves to them.
