Assignees relocating to and within Asia are managing challenges that vary in severity and sector by country. In some locations, these challenges are caused by relaxation of covid and border restrictions; others result from shortages caused by far-off wars. Ongoing lockdowns in China continue to impact the flow of goods and services throughout the region and the world. In addition, currency fluctuations are impacting assignee purchasing power and contributing to the increased cost of relocation benefits. The results we’re seeing come in the form of higher housing costs, more extended temporary housing stays, and backlogs for government and consumer services.
